DIY Easy Read is a simple tool to translate documents into Easy Read. It uses Artificial Intelligence (AI). Anyone can use it. You do not need special skills. DIY Easy Read is: Quick Simple Affordable

You should check your Easy Read document before you share it. 1. Check the meaning Does the Easy Read say the same thing as the original? Are any important details missing or changed? Is the main message clear from start to finish? Tip: Read both versions side by side.  2. Check the words Are sentences short? Are there any hard words that should be removed? If a hard word needs to be included, does it have an explanation? 3. Check the layout Does each sentence have only one idea? Is there plenty of empty space on the page? Are headings clear? 4. Check the pictures Do the pictures help explain the words? Are they respectful? Tip: If the image is not quite right you can choose a different one or upload your own. 5. Check tone and respect Does the document talk to the reader and not about them? Is it respectful? Does it support decision-making and independence? 6. Ask someone else to review it Ask a person who uses Easy Read to check your translation Ask an Easy Read expert to check your translation They can tell you if it makes sense and feels right When your document passes these checks you are ready to share it!
